Obverse description Michelangelo`s famous black pencil drawing of `The Head of Cleopatra` with a snake from 1535, now housed in the Casa Buonarroti Foundation and Museum in Florence. The issuing country `SAN MARINO` is on the right, the issue reason `MICHELANGELO` and the `R` of the Roman mint are on the left, and the dates `1475` and `2025` are visible on either side of the motif. The initials `SP` of the coin designer Silvia Petrassi at the bottom complete the motif.

Reverse description A geographical map of Western Europe spans the outer ring and inner core on the right side of the coin. The inscription 2 EURO is superimposed over the map of Europe, with the numeral “2” located in an open field representing the eastern Atlantic Ocean. 12 stars are located on the right side of the outer ring, with six stars atop the map of Europe and six stars below it; six vertical stripes cut across the inner core of the coin, visually connecting the upper and lower star segments.
