Obverse description Portrait of Abu Ali Hasan Ibn al-Haitham. He was a Muslim Arab mathematician, astronomer, and physicist of the Islamic Golden Age. Referred to as `the father of modern optics`, he made significant contributions to the principles of optics and visual perception in particular.

Reverse description Al Habda Minerat of the Great Mosque of Al-Nuri, Mosul Iraq. The Great Mosque of Al-Nuri was famous for its leaning minaret, which gave the city its nickname `the hunchback` (الحدباء al-Ḥadbāˈ). The mosque withstood various hostile invading forces over its 850-year history until it was destroyed with its distinctive minaret in the Battle of Mosul in 2017
