Beschrijving voorzijde The illustrations of this banknote pay tribute to the rock art bequeathed to us by the Tassili N`Ajjer National Park located in the wilaya of Illizi. Carrying the theme of `the history of Algeria, prehistoric period` the front side of the bill which illustrates rock engravings in the center, represents on the right the `Baballus Antiqus`, a species of prehistoric buffalo extinct that existed in the temperate Sahara before desertification. The prehistoric buffalo refers to one of the earliest periods of North African rock art, called the `Bubalin. The hologram shows the inscription `Bank` in the national language at one angle and the busts of `Emir Abdelkader` and `Jugurta` looking to the left. Tilting the banknote, the hologram shows the inscription `Algeria` in the national language and the busts of `Emir Abdelkader` and `Jugurta` looking to the right.
