Description de l’avers This Civil War issue by Wellstood, Hay & Whiting is overprinted in green with protectors and a moderate portrait of George Washington covering the upper center of the note. 2 large 5`s left and right of the portrait of George Washington. A portrait of a young woman on lower left and on lower right side is a young woman with a horse head. Upper right and left are slanted numeral 5`s. Lower center is `FIVE DOLLARS` spelled out in a circle with a tree in the middle
