Obverse description In the center we see the Ka`aba, which is a building at the center of Islam`s most important mosque, `The Great Mosque of Mecca`, in the Hezjazi city of Mecca, Saudi Arabia. Above it, in Arabic lettering, appear the name of Saudi Arabian Monetary Authority, the number and date of the Royal Decree pursuant to which it was issued and the name of King Abdullah. On the right side we see the picture of King Abdulaziz. Below the picture of the king we see the value of the banknote printed in Arabic. At the bottom of the banknote we see the signatures of the the Minister of Finance and the Governor of Saudi Arabian Monetary Authority. The foil strip on the left bears the value of the banknote and the emblem of the Kingdom.

Reverse description In the center we see a picture that features the Holy Mosque of Mecca, commonly known as al-Masjid al-Ḥarām. The mosque surrounds the Ka`aba in the city of Mecca, in the Hejazi region of Saudi Arabia. On top of it appear the name of Saudi Arabian Monetary Authority and the value of the banknote in English. At the bottom right we see the value of the banknote written in English with the emblem of the Kingdom above.
