| Descripción del anverso | Cheomseongdae, which is the oldest extant astronomical observatory in East Asia and perhaps the world. Also located in the summit’s host city, it was constructed during the reign of Queen Seondeok (r. 632–647 AD) and is constructed out of 362 stones, representing the days of the lunar year, standing 9.17 meters or 30 feet in height. Above the tower is a pattern of 21 interconnected lines and points representing the member countries of APEC. In the background is a full color scene of the APEC summit taking place. |
