| Descripción del anverso |
The reverse of Germania 2023 is the traditional image of the Germania Mint coat of arms, with a two-headed eagle holding lightning bolts and surrounded by olive branches. The eagle is derived from Germanic mythology, associated with Janus – the god of all beginnings, guardian of gates and bridges, and patron of alliances. The eagle’s heads, facing in opposite directions, symbolize the past and the future. |

As in previous years, the perspective of the obverse of Germania 2023 expands with each coin in the collection – 1, 2, 10 ounce and 1 kg. This year’s issue, however, introduces another innovation – the obverse also changes the image of our heroine, who, traversing the unknown land, eventually plunges her imperial sword Reichsschwert into the ground. |
