Obverse description In the center we see the Ka`aba, which is a building at the center of Islam`s most important mosque, `The Great Mosque of Mecca`, in the Hezjazi city of Mecca, Saudi Arabia. Above it, in Arabic lettering, appear the name of Saudi Arabian Monetary Authority, the number and date of the Royal Decree pursuant to which it was issued and the name of King Abdullah. To the right we see the picture of late King Abdulaziz Bin Abdulrahman Al Saud. At the bottom of the banknote we see the signatures of the the Minister of Finance and the Governor of Saudi Arabian Monetary Authority. Below in the center in between the signatures we see the value of the banknote printed in Arabic.

Reverse description In the center we see a view that features the Holy Mosque of Mecca, commonly known as al-Masjid al-Ḥarām. The mosque surrounds the Ka`aba in the city of Mecca, in the Hejazi region of Saudi Arabia. To the right we see the emblem of the kingdom.
